ACDC Online Calendar Policy

Events meeting any one of the criteria listed below may be posted to the ACDC online calendar.  Events that:

• Are organized by, or have an official presence or delegation by or from the Arlington Democratic party;
• Are organized by, or have an official presence or delegation by or from affiliates of the Arlington Democratic Party (e.g. AYD, Virginia Partisans, 8^th District Democrats)
• Are for the support of a Democratic candidate appearing on a primary, caucus or general election ballot for Arlington Voters (including candidates for Congressional, Virginia legislative, and statewide office);
• Are political in nature and organized by an Arlington Democratic officeholder (including Congress, statewide officeholders and others whose jurisdiction includes Arlington);
• Are taking place in Arlington AND are organized by or in support of a Democratic Party organization or a Democratic Candidate or office-holder (does not have to be an Arlington office holder or organization).

Postings for other events, such as charity fundraisers, public policy events, protests, and fundraisers for candidates who will not appear on the ballot in Arlington are not permitted and will be deleted, unless they meet the criteria established above (e.g. an official ACDC or affiliate presence/donor table/protest is being organized with the approval of the ACDC management).  Events meeting the above criteria but NOT taking place in Arlington may be removed at the discretion of the calendar moderator.

Examples of permitted events include:

• Official ACDC outreach activities
• AYD board meetings
• 8^th District Democratic Committee event in Alexandria
• Clarendon Day IF there is an official ACDC or candidate table
• Protest on Capitol Hill IF there is a sanctioned, organized ACDC contingent
• Fundraiser in Falls Church sponsored by the Arlington (Democratic) Clerk of Court
• Phone bank night for Loudoun County Democratic House of Delegates candidate occurring in Arlington

Examples of events that are NOT permitted include:

• Arlington County Civic Federation banquet when there is no official, organized ACDC or candidate table
• Volunteer night for Fairfax County Democratic House of Delegates candidate occurring in Fairfax County when there is no sanctioned, organized presence by ACDC or affiliated group

Posting on the ACDC calendar is a necessary precondition for listing in the occasional ACDC updates blast e-mails.  Similar events that occur over multiple days (e.g. weekly volunteer nights or daily phone banking) will be condensed in those updates.  See the listserv policy for other editorial policies related to that medium.
