Arlington Democrats to Conduct School Board Caucus on May 1 and May 3

Arlington Democrats will vote this week to endorse two candidates in the November 2008 School Board election. Voters will select from six candidates at a "firehouse primary" to be held on Thursday, May 1 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Thomas Jefferson Middle School and Saturday, May 3 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Washington & Lee High School.  To participate, a voter must be registered in Arlington and must sign a pledge saying that he or she is a Democrat.

On Friday, voters are asked to park in the school lot along Old Glebe Road.  On Saturday, parking spaces have been reserved for voter along Stafford Street north of Washington Blvd, and on the top level of the I-66 parking deck.  Curbside voting is available on both days for mobility impaired voters.  Over 100 volunteers are expected to be staffing this two-day event.
