2023 Arlington Democrats Gold Card

This year’s elections are critical. 

Democrats must be a roadblock against Governor Youngkin’s extreme policies and must preserve the progressive policies we’ve enacted locally. 

This means retaking the House of Delegates and gaining seats in the Virginia Senate. We must also elect strong Democrats to the Arlington School Board, County Board, and our Constitutional Offices.

A Democratic majority in the State Senate and House of Delegates means that Republicans will not be able to:

• Pass an abortion ban
• Enact anti-trans legislation or policies
• Confirm Youngkin’s extreme commissioner appointments
• Whittle away public education funding

Locally, electing strong Democrats to Arlington County offices will make sure we continue to make progress on:

• Affordable housing in our community
• Sustainable planning and growth 
• Criminal justice reform
• Mental health resource availability
• Preserving our neighborhoods’ art, history, culture, and community
