Please join us in celebrating the achievements of our veterans of color throughout US history and hear the unique challenges of the countless men and women who served in the armed services!
We will hear a panel of four veterans share their experiences during and after service, with Dr. Alfred Taylor moderating the event.
A central theme is that the history of the US is complicated and marked by eras of discord, but that by understanding this country's history in its entirety and listening to the experiences of those called to serve, despite often being treated as second-class citizens, we can begin to make genuine progress towards a more just society.
The event will be held from 6-8 PM at the Central Library auditorium and there will be a virtual component to accommodate those who can not be there in-person. Register to attend virtually
