The Arlington Democrats are continuing their Morning Mug series with a policy discussion on the Virginia Death with Dignity Act. The conversation will feature Delegate Patrick Hope, who co-sponsored the legislation in 2019, and a community activist who brought this issue to the attention of the Arlington Democrats. The Virginia Death with Dignity Act would provide medical assistance in dying for mentally capable adults with a terminal illness. Currently, there is not a legal option for terminally ill Virginians to gain medical assistance to end their suffering despite recent polls showing a strong majority of Virginians supporting the measure.
